NexaLive Guide
NexaLive is a cloud platform that connects your audience to your karaoke show. Audiences browse songs, submit requests, and track their queue position from their phones — no app install required. This guide covers everything from DJ setup to the audience experience.
What is NexaLive?
NexaLive is a cloud audience engagement platform built for karaoke DJs. It gives your audience a way to browse your songbook, submit song requests, and follow along with the show — all from their phone's browser.
- No app install — Audiences access NexaLive through a mobile web browser. Scan a QR code or enter a kiosk code and you're in.
- Real-time requests — Song requests flow from the audience to your DJ panel instantly. No more paper slips or shouted requests.
- Queue transparency — Audience members can see their position in the queue and get status updates as their turn approaches.
- Works with NexaDeck — When paired with NexaDeck, your local song library syncs to the cloud and requests flow directly into your desktop DJ app.
For DJs: Setting Up Your Show
Getting started with NexaLive takes just a few steps:
- Create your DJ account — Register on Abydonian if you haven't already. Your Abydonian account is your identity across NexaDeck and NexaLive.
- Set up your venue — Add your venue details and configure your show schedule. This tells NexaLive when you're live and where.
- Configure your show — Choose settings like whether to allow duplicate requests, set a request cooldown, and customize the audience-facing theme.
- Share your hub page — Your DJ hub page is the public landing page where audiences find your active shows and access the request system.

For DJs: The DJ Panel
The DJ Panel is your command center during a live show. Access it at /dj after signing in.
Requests Tab
Incoming song requests appear here in real time. Each request shows the song title, artist, the requester's display name, and a library match score that tells you how closely the requested song matches tracks in your library. High-confidence matches are highlighted so you can approve them quickly.
Rotation Tab
The rotation tab shows your singer queue. Drag to reorder, mark singers as “away” to skip them temporarily, or remove them from the rotation entirely. The rotation syncs in real time with NexaDeck if connected.

Controls
The DJ Panel provides playback controls for managing your show flow: play/pause the current track, skip to the next singer, and toggle buffer music between performances.
Connection Status
A status indicator in the panel header shows your connection to the NexaLive cloud:
- Green dot — Connected and syncing in real time
- Yellow dot — Reconnecting (brief network interruption)
- Red dot — Disconnected (check your internet connection)
For DJs: Kiosk Setup
A kiosk is a dedicated song request terminal for your venue. It can be a tablet at the DJ booth, a screen on a table, or simply a QR code that patrons scan with their phones.
- Kiosk codes — Each show gets a unique kiosk code (e.g.
ROCK42). Audiences enter this code to connect to your active show. - PIN protection — Set a PIN to restrict admin access on shared kiosk devices. The PIN prevents patrons from accessing DJ controls on a venue tablet.
- QR codes — Generate and print QR codes that link directly to your kiosk. Place them on tables, at the bar, or on a display near the stage. Scanning the code opens the song browser instantly — no code entry needed.
For Audiences: Browsing Songs
Getting into the song browser is quick:
- Scan the QR code at your table or venue — this opens the song browser directly. Alternatively, visit the DJ's hub page and enter the kiosk code displayed at the venue.
- Browse or search — Use the search bar to find songs by title or artist. You can also filter by genre to narrow results.
- Check version badges — Songs may have badges like Duet, Acoustic, Live, or Standard so you know exactly which version you're picking.

For Audiences: Making a Request
Found the song you want? Requesting it takes seconds:
- Tap the song to open the request form.
- Enter your display name — This is the name the DJ will call when it's your turn. You can also add an optional message (e.g. “It's my birthday!”).
- Submit — Tap the request button. Your request is sent to the DJ instantly.
- Confirmation — You'll see a “Request sent!” screen with your queue position. A brief cooldown prevents accidental double-submissions.

For Audiences: Tracking Your Request
After submitting a request, you can track its progress in real time.
Queue Position & Wait Time
Your current position in the queue and an estimated wait time are displayed on the tracking screen. Both update live as the show progresses.
Status Updates
Your request moves through these stages:
- Pending — Your request has been submitted and is waiting for the DJ to review it.
- Acknowledged — The DJ has seen your request.
- Queued — You're in the rotation. Your queue position is confirmed.
- Now Playing — You're up! Head to the stage.
- Completed — Your performance is done.
My Requests Panel
The “My Requests” panel shows all requests you've made during the current show session. You can see the status of each one without needing to ask the DJ.
NexaDeck Integration
NexaLive is designed to work hand-in-hand with NexaDeck, the desktop karaoke DJ app. When connected, the two systems form a complete DJ + audience experience.
Library Sync
Your local NexaDeck song catalog syncs to the NexaLive cloud. This means audiences browse the actual songs you have available — not a generic database. When you add or remove tracks in NexaDeck, the cloud songbook updates automatically.
Request Flow
When an audience member submits a request through NexaLive, it flows through the cloud and appears in your NexaDeck request queue. The full path: audience phone → NexaLive cloud → NexaDeck DJ panel. No manual re-entry required.
Real-Time Show State
NexaDeck pushes live show state to NexaLive: the currently playing track, rotation updates, and show status changes. Audiences see what's playing now and who's coming up next, all in real time.
